Little Greene

Taking A Dip

We have recently completed the comprehensive renovation of this pool and spa area, effectively transforming it into a calm and relaxing space from its original and quite different appearance. The ceilings presented quite a challenge to tackle, as they consist of a complex spray foam insulation material. Specifically, the central ceiling had noticeable areas of soot that had blown in from the ventilation system, so our first step was to carefully dust and vacuum this area to ensure a clean surface. After this initial cleaning, we then had to identify a suitable primer that would properly adhere to the foam insulation. With all the necessary materials in hand, we began by spraying the primer onto the foam to establish a suitable base for the subsequent top coats. Once the primer was applied, we were able to spray on two additional coats of Zinsser Permawhite, which we had mixed to match the elegant Little Greene Silent White Pale 328.

The walls, along with the lower sections of the pillars and architraves, exhibited significant water damage due to previous flooding incidents. Consequently, we had to meticulously repair and prepare these surfaces beforehand. One of the images showcases the damage found on one of the pillars. After completing the repairs, we primed all affected areas, and the walls subsequently received three coats of Edward Bulmer Duck Egg Blue eggshell, a beautiful and soothing colour. The woodwork and pillars received two coats of Tikurilla Helmi 10, which we mixed to match the Little Greene Silent White Pale 328. Both the wall and woodwork paint were formulated with a mould and mildew additive, ensuring durability in the humid environment, while the product used for the ceiling already included this vital feature.

The overall lighting in the room provides multiple options, offering four different configurations: the wall lights, the central spotlights, a central LED strip light, and the pool light. This variety enhances the ambiance of the room, allowing for a customizable mood suited for relaxation or entertaining.

Making An Entrance

This entrance hall, nestled in the heart of the picturesque East Sussex countryside, underwent meticulous preparation and close attention to detail to bring to life the exact vision of our client. The grand staircase spanned four floors, necessitating scaffolding that ascended right through its core. Though I wish I could showcase all the photos of this remarkable project, space here is limited. The walls adorn a harmonious palette of Farrow & Ball Dead Flat Emulsion in the serene tone of Eddy, while Edward Bulmer Spanish White graces the walls below the dado rail on the ground level. Tikkurila Anti Reflex 2 White envelops the ceilings and cornice, radiating a sense of purity. Edward Bulmer Spanish White adorns all woodwork and columns, exuding timeless elegance. Noteworthy are the spindles, finished in Little Greene Intelligent Eggshell, a distinct hue born from a fortuitous mixing error, embraced wholeheartedly by our client for its unique charm.
